Costas Gaïtis was born in 1952 in Greece.
1) He studied Free-hand and Linear drawing, Sculpture, Painting, Marble techniques, Casting techniques, History of Arts, and History of Greek Literature at the “Fine Arts school” of Tinos.
2) With a scholarship he continued his studies at the “ Athens Superior School of Fine Arts”.
3) He continued his postgraduate studies where he attended classes in Plastic Arts at “Paris VIII” (ex Vincennes) University.
4) Immediately afterwards he was admitted to“E.N.S.B.A.” Paris Superior School of Fine Arts”, - (Paris VI University) - to the postgraduate workshop of Sculptor CESAR.
5) In order to perfect his theoretical studies, he was admitted to the D.E.A. (third circle postgraduate studies) of “Paris I, Panthéon Sorbonne” University were, he attended seminars in Philosophy of Arts (Aesthetics) by Professor Revault d’ Allonnes, focusing on “Arts and Mathematics”.
6) Personal study for the works (both theoretical and visual) by Paul Klee, Vassili Kandinsky and the Fine Arts School “Bauhaus” in General.
During the same time, he gave private lessons of linear, free design, and sculpture.

“Fine Arts school” of Tinos (Greek Cycladic island), he studied: Free-hand and Linear drawing, Sculpture, Painting, Marble techniques, Casting techniques, History of Arts, and History of Greek Literature for three years.

At the age of fifteen, he was admitted to the “Preparatory Department” of the “Athens School of Fine Arts” having N. Nikolaou as his tutor.

In 1970 he was chosen with the highest entry mark of all the applicants to the Sculpture workshop’s of the “Athens School of Fine Arts” specifically to Giannis Papa’s workshop , were he studied for two years.

During a four-year absence from studies in fine arts, he studied Theater (especially Grotofsky’s technique) with stage director D.Borres at “Stoudio 49 “Theater School. “ He performed plays by Becket, Shepard and Van Italy, which signaled the first “Underground” theater movement in Athens.

In 1976 he continued his studies at the “Athens School of Fine Arts“, with D.Kalamaras as his tutor up to his degree in 1978.
During the same period, he attended classes in Stage Designing, Advertising Poster Creating, and Marble Technique at the studios of “Applied Arts” of the “ Athens School of Fine Arts”.

He has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Greece France and abroad.

His works are found in private collections in America, Belgium, France, Greece, Japan, Spain, Italy and Britain.

His work are permanently on display at “EVRIPIDES” Art Gallery, in Kolonaki, Athens.

In 2000 after having spent 20 years in Paris, he arrived at Panormos in Tinos, were he stayed and produced his personal work.

Since the beginning of 2004, he has been living and working in Athens in order to present his new work.
