Vera Manion

Vera Manion is a visual artist born in Czech republic and currently living on the outskirts of London. Her approach to art is multidisciplinary, using predominantly oil paint as a traditional medium sampled with photocopies. Vera likes working with strong colours and boldly defined areas on the canvas.The recurring core subject is that of identity and the struggle to find the place in the world beyond the expected norms. Her work is restless and responds to the world full of objects, ideas, theories, rules, codes and our making of meaning through language. Often these ideas and objects are organised into installations, performing symbolic meaning and leaving the possibility for the viewer to find another meaning behind the piece of work. ♥
