Viktoria Villanyi

I have been deeply interested in people's ancient beliefs in natural elements, as well as the eternal seeking of supernatural truth beyond mere reason and logic.

I enjoy the power of cold and warm materials, metal and wood, and different layers and textures of paint.

I build my artworks mostly of wood, metal, and paint, in them I seek an expression of perpetual change, circulation of energy and heat.

I have painted ever since my childhood, during my studies in the USA I not only got acquainted with contemporary art, but had the chance to work closely with a Latin American graphic artist and sculptor which deeply developed my thinking and perception and technical knowledge of art. In these years I evolved an interest in the combination of graphic and architectural elements, the combination, coupling of spatial effects and graphic art.

Viktoria Villanyi is an artist and lawyer, living and working in Europe, Hungary, who also studied and lived in the United States, Boston, Massachusetts, and in Spain, Barcelona. She has experience in mixed media/painting, graphic arts, and in contemporary art theory. Viktoria holds an MA in art history and contemporary art theory and has worked and studied graphic arts and mixed media with contemporary Latin American artist Rimer Cardillo (NY, SUNY New Paltz, USA). Viktoria also practices law as a professional lawyer, she received her JD in Europe, Hungary and has been an associate at various law firms focusing on areas of business law.
