Professor Wong Shiu Hon (b.1941) , has developed an interest in, and a passion for, the study of Chinese literature, art, and Daoism, from the time he completed his undergraduate studies. With a teaching career spanning almost three decades, Professor Wong held teaching posts at the University of Hong Kong, the East Asia University (Macau), the Australian National University, Murdoch University (Western Australia), and the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes,Sorbonne (Paris), where he taught extensively in the history of ci poetry, Chinese art, traditional drama and the history of Daoism. He also acted as supervisor for masters and doctoral postgraduate students. Professor Wong has authored 41 books on Chinese poetry, Daoist religion, Chinese drama and Chinese art. He was Professor at the Department of Chinese, University of Hong Kong, when he opted for an early retirement and relocated to Australia in 1998. Professor Wong now lives in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

RECENT EXHIBITIONS:
2019 25-27 October 2019 "Amalgamation and Harmony: Traditional Chinese Painting and Calligraphy on Canvas" (Boardwalk Gallery, Wrest Point, Sandy Bay, Hobart) organised by the Chinese Art Socieity, Australia and Australia China Friendship Society Tasmania. The exhibition of over 50 pieces showcased the journey of the artist from his earliest days (1950s) to the present day. Professor Wong's art is in the classical Chinese style and highlights his unique skills and professionalism. He is particularly renowned for his flower and bird paintings.
