Martine Mooijenkind, also known as Knutseltroep, is a self-taught collage artist and graphic designer from Gouda, The Netherlands. She creates surreal collages using vintage materials and digital techniques. She also works as a care attendant for the disabled . Her artworks have been published in various magazines and online platforms.
Mooijenkind started making collages in 2010, when she discovered a box of old magazines in her attic. She was fascinated by the images and stories from the past, and decided to cut them out and rearrange them into new compositions. She soon developed her own style, combining elements from different sources and eras to create surreal scenes and characters.
Mooijenkind uses both analog and digital methods to create her collages. She often scans her cut-outs and edits them on Photoshop, adding filters, textures and effects to enhance the mood and atmosphere of her works. She sometimes incorporates her own drawings and photographs into her collages, creating a personal touch.
Mooijenkind draws inspiration from various sources, such as music, literature, cinema, nature and dreams. She is influenced by artists such as Hannah Höch, Max Ernst, and Salvador Dali. She likes to explore themes such as identit...
