Stefan Kretschy

STEFAN KRETSCHY was born in Germany. His paintings present a unique combination of an abstract, sometimes figurative forms and drawing.
He focuses mainly on structures of nature, especially landscapes and human nature in particular. His paintings are mostly created spontaneously, he is lead by experience, emotions and everyday observation. Experimentation with materials like acrylic, chalk and oil colors are spontaneously combined, sensitive and free-flowing.
He is trying to capture fragments of the colors and shapes of his memory and mix them with his current observations as a city dweller. His painting comes from a process of performance.
Today he lives and works in Arnstadt (Germany).

After graduating from Universities of Erfurt and Jena as an art teacher he work since 2001 at a secondary school of Art and Design in Erfurt.
