Donna Walker

I'm an interdisciplinary designer who works predominantly with furniture and spaces. My work critiques the tendency of consumerist society to dispose of functional and useful objects in favour of new and more fashionable versions.

By recognising the value in history and memory embedded in our personal possessions, I transform them into new and desirable pieces of furniture, whilst retaining and celebrating their history. By altering the functions and aesthetics of unloved, damaged and discarded objects I aim to increase their longevity instead of condemning re-useable resources to landfill, showing that yesterday's junk can be today's treasure.
