Rhea Thierstein is an international British Artist whose work explores our connections with nature, drawing attention to the pivotal significance of tiny moments which surround us, creating new experiences for her audiences. Unique application of everyday materials takes their boundaries to different levels, with the use of narrative to stimulate nostalgic responses.
With delicacy, beauty and often a surprisingly dark undertone Rhea’s work has been seen on a multitude of platforms crossing over to art, installations, moving image, stills photography, costume and immersive theatre.
Rhea was born in Germany, but grew up in the South of England. She loved to explore microworlds in her environment. Magnifying tiny moments is a continuing theme in her work.
Rhea contributed work to an all female group show for Saatchi and Saatchi (London) and was commissioned to create an art installation at the Natural History Museum (London) for its Venom exhibition. She was also chosen by Hermès to be featured in their Artist Windows in the UK, Ireland and Dubai on a number occasions and was named as one of London’s 10 fastest-rising creatives by The Business of Fashion.
