Michael Carlson

Michael “Shane” Carlson was born and raised in New Mexico. Shane inherited his art ability from his Native American Roots. Shane began drawing at 14 and was highly influenced by his mother Peggy who also was a great artist. At 19, Shane entered a Contest of a bulldog drawing at the County Fair. Against hundreds of professionals, Shane won Best of Show from the region. Shane currently resides in Lubbock and has sold many ultra realism drawings locally. 2020 will be the first time to be recognized globally as a Professional Artist.

Shane achieved a Bachelors of Art degree from Eastern New Mexico University (1998) and an Associate of Art from Clovis Community College (1994). Shane also taught Art at Santa Rosa Middle and High School, New Mexico (2012-14).
