I recently graduated from the University of Brighton, having studied Fine Art; Printmaking. My current work is based on the theme of the 'secret lives' of woods. I first became interested in this after seeing Chrystel Lebas's photographic work displayed in the Twilight exhibition at the V&A. I started to go into the woods alone at twilight and this evoked such a feeling of unease and apprehension. Added to the feeling of unease I started to stumble across strange objects such as a burnt out car. Moreover, we are all familiar with reading about bodies found in woods. The woods can be so beautiful and calming, but at the same time they can be sinister and dangerous. In my work I want to portray this sense of unease.
