Layla Al-Marzooqi Von Nachtblau

Layla is a New York based artist. Her work is mostly abstract and instantaneous, where improvisation and experimentation take precedent in her work.

It is intentionally instinctive, starts within a chaotic realm and ultimately reaches a consorted harmony that allows a playful balance an equilibrium between the individual senses and the naturally arising patterns. For her creativity and action comes first; the concept is secondary if not irrelevant and only materialises within the fluid process of a continuous creative evolution and transformation that exposes an emerging consciousness.

Her aim is to tap into the intrinsic and the spontaneous nature of the creative process by acting and living the experience of painting in itself rather than relying on a contrived concept or preconceived notion of self-limiting specificity. At the same time creating a work within the visual realm where one can enjoy easthetically and reflect upon its many dimensions. Ultimately the visual piece should speak for itself and does not rely on a written statement!
