Kateryna Lysenko

Graduate of the College of Arts in Dnipro and the Department of Monumental Painting of the Lviv Academy of Arts. Painter, teacher at the Art-Mansarda creative studio in Lviv. Working with children serves as a great inspiration to the artist. “It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.”-said Picasso.The artist strives for sincerity, which is characteristic of children's perception, and at the same time possesses the knowledge and skills of a mature professional artist.

Kateryna combines contemporary style with Old Masters' Painting Techniques, which give the paintings more depth and creates detailed texture, color harmony and delicate balance of light and dark.

The contrast – in texture, in tone, in color, in depictions of ordinary objects along with abstract sensibilities is used to awaken the subliminal in the viewer, to evoke certain associations.

These works give a different perspective to seemingly innocuous parts of our day to day life, in them strikingly realistic details are juxtaposed with abstract composition. They at the same time stand out against emotionally charged abstract background and come together to form one image- rich and expressive in both color and emotion.
