Simina Badea

Visual artist Simina Badea was born in Romania in 1984 and lives and works in Vienna since 2003. She completed the art grammar school in Sibiu, Romania and attended the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna where she graduated in 2008.
Simina´s subtle and meditative patterns evoke a feeling of timelessness and are at core an ode to the beauty surrounding us. The repetitive structures and ornaments breathe life into mythical-like figures or spinn broad universes like an endless yarn. This takes inspiration from the memories of the summer holidays spent playing on wild hay flower meadows or in the company of goats, chickens, earthworms, dogs and cats and the books on the porch, as well as from observing the multiple repetitions of patterns in nature, each one in its very own individual way.
