Andrea Baldi

Selftaught artist, I was born in Orvieto on the 17th August, 1962.
Paper and colours, at first only moving hobbies, turned into a passion which led me to the desire of making deeper my knowledge of art. I found my first inspiration sources in photography and music; in particular, I love Nature and anything related to it in its various colours and expressions.
Since 1986 I was taking part to several work groups founded by some artists that, different in style and formation, helped me to put my ideas and dreams in my paintings, to reveal something about myself together with colours, to propose the painting subject in a personal and emotional key.
I use different painting techniques such as oil painting, watercolour, acrylic, charcoal stick, pencil and Indian ink.
Landscapes were my first subjects.
Today I feel more attracted by the human figure and most of all by the facial expressions.
My greatest desire is to prepare an exhibition about the other face of the Earth, a sort of exhibition about the heterogeneity of human race, in order to show the endless shadings of light, colour, and feeling that Man - of every race - owns.
