Kd Rouse

Painting is a combination of emotion, motion, and exploration for me. I love to play with paint and see what it will do; see if I can capture the movement, the patterns, the shadows around me with the emotions I feel. As a musician and songwriter, sometimes the music inside me felt like too much so I was drawn to paint. It was a relief to have the extra music in me-and emotions-spill out onto canvas.
I don't paint with a paintbrush. I use my fingers or found objects with which to paint. I experiment with both acrylic paint and spray paint.

Master's Degree in Library and Information Studies from University of North Carolina-Greensboro.
I also had the privilege of attending St. John's College, the "great books school" in Annapolis, Maryland for 3 years.
