Giusy Lauriola is a contemporary artist based in Rome. Her work explores the threshold between reality and imagination, creating layered, semi-abstract compositions through the use of resin, acrylic, and enamel.
Light, color, and transparency play a central role, turning her surfaces into meditative spaces that evoke silence, memory, and emotion.
Themes of femininity, human connection, and nature run throughout her visual language. Resin, her signature material, is more than a medium-it's a luminous, tactile presence that enhances the sensory and sculptural quality of her works.
Lauriola's expressive approach balances structure and spontaneity, blending controlled gesture with instinctive impulse. Over time, she has moved from digital and photo-based media back to painting, developing a distinct aesthetic rooted in poetic sensitivity and material experimentation.
After graduating in Languages, I attended the painting and drawing course at the Academy of Arts and Crafts of San Giacomo in Rome and followed the painting courses of two masters, Silvio Bicchi, whose father was a pupil of the great Giovanni Fattori, the greatest exponent of the Macchiaioli, and Alberto Bertuzzi, who taught me the hyper realist technique. To refine my stroke, I took the illustration course at the Pencil Art School of Comics and Illustration in Rome.
