Maira Imangaziyeva

My name is Maira, I'm 41 years old. I was born into a large Soviet family in 1982 in the city of Aktau, in western Kazakhstan. Since childhood, I really loved to draw, draw, create, make things, but I never even thought that I would someday be an artist.
As a child, we did not have an art section where I could study, and I did not have time, since I had to look after my younger sisters. So I forgot my dream of drawing back in school, but I promised myself that “one day I will pick up real paints and brushes and just start drawing, and then no one else will be able to stop or stop me!”
So, 30 years later in February 2023, I went to an art store and bought professional art paints, brushes and just started - writing! When I came to oil paints, there was no stopping me!
I never learned to draw anywhere. I'm self-taught. I can't explain how I do it, I just take it and draw! And that's it!
I never thought that at 41 years old I would realize the dream of that same little girl who lived inside me all this time, waited and believed in me!
