Marie Michaud

Marie Michaud is a contemporary artist born in Sept-Iles, Quebec. She took her first painting and drawing lessons as a child. As an adult, after a first degree in Communication Studies at Concordia University, Marie completed a second degree in Graphic Design at UQAM, which gave her the privilege of producing a series of posters for the famous Duceppe theatre in Montreal. Subsequently, during a 25 year expatriation in the south of France, she set up a jewelry design business which flourished during 13 years. Creativity has always been a priority in her life path. Her definitive return to Quebec in 2016 and the lockdowns linked to the pandemic were perfect occasions to take the leap and decide to dedicate her time to her true mission: painting! Now, her paints and brushes are never far and she cherishes each minute spent in her sunny workshop!

Marie's background in Graphic Design has, still to this day, a great influence on her art. The balance of the elements and the use of vibrant colours, often highlighted by black outlines, are the common thread of her work. Her artwork is often bold with a happy vibe. She likes to think that her art brings joy into peoples lives !
