Shawn (Shu-Cheng) Zheng, B.A. (Industrial Design), M.A. (Fine Art), He was appointed professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, Fujian Teacher’s University before he immigrated to Canada in 1989. Shawn has developed a distinctive art style in painting with ink and color. Also he is an art instructor in the Department of Art and Art history at Univesity of Saskatchewan. His paintings were exhibited in Canada, the United States and China. He was awarded the Outstanding Cultural Contribution Award by the University of Saskatchewan in 2017 in recognition of his outstanding artistic contribution in painting “Fly High Canada”.

Shawn Zheng is a Chinese-Canadian visual artist whose work explores the convergence of Eastern philosophy and Western abstraction. Working primarily with ink and acrylic, Zheng draws deeply from the traditional Chinese aesthetic principle of “Qi Yun Sheng Dong” — the spirit resonance and dynamic vitality that bring art to life.

2017 Solo Exhibition "Fly High Canada": Collaborated with the University of Saskatchewan for a solo exhibition at the University Art Gallery. The exhibition gained local dignitaries' attention and featured on CBC Radio.
