Darya Sumarava-Kopach

The works by Warszaw based artist Darya Sumara-Kopach focus on the contemporary relevance of modern figurative painting, in relation to everyday events and pressing problems. She is an adept painter, who is interested in the theme of human inner experiences, recycling of things, and the consumer market, and this is visibly evident in her paintings.

Sumara-Kopach uses a polychrome range in her paintings to depict everyday life, while at the same time emitting a feeling of intense emotionality and dramatism through her distinguished painterly stroke. Even though the predominant medium of expression is oil painting, she also uses mixed media. This innovative approach opens up a range of new possibilities and ideas, allowing her to comment on both individual experience and the collective.
