Swantje Andersen

Swantje Andersen is a professional German artist with Scandinavian roots.* She also works as a scientist in research projects in art history and human medicine.
Since studying painting and graphic art at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, she has presented her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions, establishing a distinctive artistic position within the contemporary art scene.
Her painting is characterized by a powerful use of color and form, creating a dynamic tension between freedom and structure. The result is multilayered visual worlds of poetic intensity that invite reflection and allow space for individual interpretation. She moves with confidence between different artistic modes of expression – from Abstract Expressionism and Impressionism to Color Field painting and Kinetic approaches. Her works combine the gestural freedom of Expressionism with striking figurative compositions, in which personal experiences and inner tensions are transformed into a unique visual language.
