Salome Kapanadze

Salome Kapanadze is a contemporary artist from Tbilisi, Georgia, currently living and working in New York City. She works across painting, printmaking, and graphic arts, and holds a Master’s degree from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts.
Her artistic practice is centered around the interaction between form, scale, and space. In her works, shapes and figures often appear in unexpected sizes, creating contrasts that challenge the viewer’s perception. She uses perspective to arrange elements within the composition in a way that feels both structured and spontaneous.
Large color fields and small figures function as expressive spots, giving her work a strong visual rhythm. These are not just background elements but active parts of the composition, often carrying emotional weight. These elements interact with each other, creating a sense of movement and balance.
Salome’s art invites the viewer to explore a world where nothing is fixed—where form and space are constantly shifting, and where color becomes a language of its own. Through this approach, she creates a unique visual experience that reflects her interest in movement, balance, and also expresses a deep sense of strength, as well as a constant drive toward the new.
