After 26 years of culinary journalism in a women's press, the desire to give a more creative meaning to my life leads me to consider a career change.
In 2014, I discovered lacquer, its softness, its sensuality, and developed a passion for this light-creating technique... Everything then became obvious. I want to become a lacquerer!
Three years later, after a long journey punctuated by beautiful and enriching encounters, training with a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, the dream is within reach. Destiny makes me cross paths with a lacquerer who is as talented as she is kind, who will set me on my feet by entrusting me with my first mission. She will thus open to me the doors of the lacquered way.
Whether for creations or commissions, the technique I use is that of oily varnish, or European lacquer (as opposed to vegetable lacquer). It can be applied to all supports: wood, metal, glass, etc. flat or in volume (furniture, objects).
The varnish is mixed with pigments and applied with a brush in successive layers, then sanded. Eggshell, mother-of-pearl, gold leaf, copper, silver... So many precious elements that bring depth and shine are inlaid. The range of possibilities and techniques is endless.
