Ame Kaguyama
Was born in Tokyo in 1989 and raised in a Catholic mission school from the age of 3 to 18.
Went on to study oil painting at Tokyo National University of the Arts, but felt that "as long as I was born with a Japanese body, I could not become an artist without knowing about Japanese art," so after graduation, studied the basics of Japanese painting at BIGAKKO's Cho-Nihonga seminar while studying Japanese dance and Noh theater.
After much trial and error, around 2021, began to feel a strong affinity for KUMOHADA pulp paper and SUMI ink.
Kaguyama's strongest interest is to depict Christian art on indigenous Japanese paper and SUMI ink.
Bachelor of Fine art, Tokyo National University of the Arts (2013)
