Ishara Madushanka is an innovative artist from Mahiyanganaya, Sri Lanka. With a background in painting and an early fascination with electronic circuits, his work bridges the gap between nature and the constructed virtual spaces of the digital age.
Raised in an artistic family, Ishara's creative path was shaped from an early age, but it was his interest in electronics that lent his practice a distinctive and experimental foundation. After graduating in painting from the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, he now works as a full-time artist.
His practice is deeply personal. He paints on copper not only for its luminous, reflective surface and rich patina, but also for its symbolic connection to memory, time, and his own childhood. In Ishara's work, you can sense a quiet reminder of what we are leaving behind-and an invitation to remember the beauty that once surrounded us.
Graduated from the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo
Earned a Bachelor of Visual Arts (B.V.A.) with a specialization in painting
