Cj Alex Strom

CJ Alex Strom received degrees in art and psychology and also trained in fashion and graphic design. Alex Strom has exhibited in Canada, the UK and Switzerland over the last 25 years and works are held in collections in Canada, the United States, Switzerland, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia and China.

CJ Alex Strom's artistic practice is cross-medium and often explores the sculptural, structural, and formalist qualities of materials while being inspired by nature, the sea, and observed moments. Ideas are endless and works can vary widely depending on the inspiration.

I am interested in seeing the hand of the maker, the "mistakes" that can't be reversed, the unexpected moments that produce the soul of the work and give it energy. The meditative mark making and movements involve a combination of experimentation and repetition, two key ingredients which fuel the process and the outcome.
