Bethanie Mitchell

Bethanie Mitchell is an independent documentary photographer, artist, journalist, educator, and author currently residing in Seattle, Washington. A compassionate observer, a photographer as historian, and just a human who has found herself working in war zones and sensitive sociopolitical environments throughout the world alongside other humans experiencing the realities of being on this planet. When at home, she works on cathartic and enjoyable art projects which often delve into metal work, photographic alternative and historical processes, while spending time in her personal studio.

Historical and alternative fine art processes were self-taught through reading books.
