Over two decades ago, a simple yet profound discovery changed the course of my life. Hidden inside an unassuming rock, I found a world of unexpected color — a revelation that ignited a passion I have pursued ever since.
This rock, called Argillite, is a sedimentary stone formed over millions of years from ancient rivers, lakes, and seas. In its raw state, it is soft, malleable, and often overlooked — dismissed as worthless by most. Yet, within its fragile layers lies astonishing natural beauty, waiting to be revealed.
My work lies at the intersection of geological exploration and artistic innovation. In the field, I seek out the most vivid and intriguing forms of Argillite. In the studio, I develop experimental techniques to honor and elevate its beauty — carefully sculpting and preserving each piece’s unique character.
Through my creations, I invite you to see Argillite differently: not as a forgotten remnant of Earth's history, but as a canvas of nature’s hidden artistry. Each sculpture is a collaboration between human intuition and ancient matter — a celebration of time, transformation, and beauty often missed by the eye.

Self-Taught Visual Artist – Experimental practice since 2003
My academic background in psychology and behavioral science has deeply influenced my artistic practice. The experimental mindset I developed through scientific research enhanced my ability to explore, test, and develop my techniques. My work with Argilite and natural stone fragments reflects both an aesthetic sensibility and an investigative approach, merging creativity with an empirical understanding of material properties.
