Ludymila Louise took her first steps in the world of art as a student of
industrial design at the Belas Artes Faculty in São Paulo. A native of
Poços de Caldas in Minas Gerais state, her journey led to an attraction
for unconventional materials like rubber, concrete and horse mane.
Ludymila sees abstract form as a composite of meaning, concept and
sensibility. In her atelier she creates uncommon forms and aesthetic
behaviors, veritable sculptures that blend harmoniously with
environments and human bodies.
Ludymila’s initial entry into the art market occurred in 2015, at the gallery
of Thomas Cohn, known for launching the careers of Brazilian artists in
the 1980s, such as Adriana Varejão and Leonilson. Ludymila took part in
the II Bienal of Contemporary Latin-American Jewelry at the exposition
‘Aquello que Abraza” (“That Which Embraces”) in Buenos Aires, which
enjoyed a second edition at the Galeria Virgilio in São Paulo. The
exhibits had already been displayed at the New Gallery and the Central
Galeria, both in São Paulo.
In pieces used for interior decoration, Ludymila works primarily with
