Marina Stamatov

I was born in the former USSR and have been drawing since childhood. After graduating from art school and then art college, I took a long break from creating — more than ten years — and later spent seven years teaching. Eventually, I felt the need to return to painting, because leaving your own ideas and emotions unexpressed feels like an unwritten book, an unmade film, or unspoken feelings. I am left-handed, and perhaps that has shaped the way I see and create. At the moment, I explore very different subjects and styles, searching for my true artistic path, while always staying faithful to what I love most: the act of creating itself.”
