Cata Ahlback

Cata Ahlback is a finnish contemporary artist, who was born in 1962 in Mustasaari, Finland. She lives and works in Vaasa. She has studied fine art; particularly graphics, painting and drawing at the open university of the University of Art and Design Helsinki in 1997-2000.
Graphics, painting, installations and ready-made art are combined in Cata Ahlback's works. In her graphic works she uses mainly monotype and photograph based copy-print.
Her solo exhibitions are based on the theme of presence. She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in Finland and abroad.
Some of her works are in the Finnish State art collections. Cata Ahlback is a member of the Association of Finnish Printmakers and Finnish Painters' Union.
