Mei-Ku Huang

I was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and grew up in the Washington DC area and educated in the US. I am currently working and living in Chicago. I worked for several years as a free lance illustrator in NYC concurrent with a profession in health care, and then several more years in a non-art related field. I returned to art, to my painting and photography in 2002. I find my inspiration in the world around me, in the interplay of light and dark, from my travels, from my sensibility as an Asian with an American education and from both classical and contemporary artists. And since I share my life and home with two dogs, they and their "kins", both four legged and two legged, also inspire me.
