Vieira Rodrigues

Born in Lisbon on 29 October 1947.
He lives and works in São João de Caparica,
an engineer, full time artist.
 
Movement: Postmodern Art
Vieira increasingly works his own painting
as a means to exploit, because the images that appear
They can capture the "truth."

Other common themes in his work are the
elements of chance, the game between realism and abstraction.
Working alongside but never fully embracing
a rapid succession of movements of the art
Late twentieth century, as abstract expressionism,
American pop / British art, minimalism
and conceptualism, Vieira has absorbed many
their ideas, remaining skeptical
all the great artistic and philosophical beliefs.


The artistic production Vieira can be inserted
into two categories:
- Figuratively, works in acrylic resins (pagan masks);
- Abstracta, almost all the work done since 2006 on aluminum (dibond) / Plexiglass.


The variety in their work does not indicate a lack
of interest in reality but a great
confidence to present different models
to convey that.

SandStorm is an example of how often alternating Vieira
between realistic and abstract styles in various
work series, even on a single screen.

It was stipulated in this tour of the Award that won
in 2015 in the category Painting with a panel of 8 Artworks
in "VIII - Vera Fine Art Festival" in the National-Lisbon Cordoaria.

This year 2016 made an exhibition at the Kremlin in Moscow
