Cecilia Ferraro

Cecilia is a gentle, quirky and passionate artist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1986. Lives and works in London, UK.

Mercurial Hallucinations is her most recent series of paintings and collages. This series, developed since 2013, reflects on her life-long interest in observing nature, the origins of life and the realization of the impermanence and uncertainty of existence.
By utilising these subjects she attempts to inspire the viewer to realign with themselves and their surroundings and to explore the tension generated between the physical description of reality and fictional descriptions that involve the imaginative—or even hallucinatory—faculties. She wants to seize these contradictions and discover what lies underneath the surface, highlighting the invisible links that maintain universal connections.
Her methodology, then, consists of a play between the created world and her own subjectivity by a process that is intuitive and spontaneous.

"That impulse that runs through your body and won't let you sleep. The electricity of touching some skins. The fire which is lit in the presence of inspiration. It ignites and burns. Hope. The states of the mind. Heaven and Hell inside our own personal world that expands with art...

Cecilia Ferraro discovered her genuine passion for visual arts as a kid. She holds a degree in Fashion and Textile Design from Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) and has attended several workshops and lectures between London and Buenos Aires—including “The Aesthetics of Power” and “The Understanding of Contemporary Art” at UADE, “Art Direction for Fashion” at Central Saint Martins and “Fashion Photography” at Chelsea Collage of Art & Design, among others.
