Miles Laventhall

The power of nature and the plight between matter and spirit are constant influences that inform my work. Climate and geologic phenomena, earthen form, crucial issues facing humanity, and storms raging from within, are the marrow of my work.

I use natural forms to personify human-like gestures, and aging synthetic materials to infer time and a return to truth and primal status.

Making art is a visceral experience ... a spiritual and physical reaction to life, and the magic of the moment.
