Kristina Stanek is an academic painter. The focus is on a concept dominated by the desire to capture as much as possible the captured moment of urban life. In the paintings, we recognize the basic symbols of modern existence, which are there only to encourage us to think about the consequences, but also the beauty of that very modernism. Streets, intersections, that noise shown through frosted glass or memory. The goal here is not to achieve figuration, but the feeling of that atmosphere, which is on the very border of abstraction. Through motifs such as romantic parts of the city, one can easily show one's own experience of the chosen moment. In this convincing display, the greatest collaborators are the colors and their contrast, temperamentally applied to the canvas.
Kristina Stanek graduated from the "Academy of Fine Arts' 2002god in Belgrade.
