Born, raised and educated in Germany,move to the Chicago area in 1979. Taking moods and nuances from many travels throughout my life,the sources for my paintings very often are personal photographs, many of which find their way into my paintings. Using media like modeling paste,foil, paper, wire and acrylic medium allow my canvasses turn into optical illusions on many different levels."I approach a painting without pre-conceived ideas about the finished product. I'll let my intuition guide the brush;allow the ideas to grow, alternating between abstract compositions and real landscapes.I am always challenging myself with new ideas and materials. Lately my work has become more textural, providing even more depth to the painting..
