Ngabonziza Bonfils born and based in Rwanda, I do mostly create African Folk art or Naïve Art.
My art is like a bright cloth made of stories. These stories tell about community, the strong women of Africa, and how people and nature live together peacefully. I really want to show the beauty and strength of everyday life in communities. Often, I focus on women because they care for others and are important to their families and communities.
My paintings show the energy of people working together, like at markets or when they harvest food. I use strong colors and shapes. I want to make the women in my art look powerful and show their worth, knowledge, and how much they help their communities.
Sometimes, I also put African animals in my art. They are not separate from the people, but part of where they live. This shows that I respect nature and believe everything is connected. Through my art, I want to share stories that everyone can understand and help people from different places appreciate the beauty and strength of the African spirit.
My art could be seen at; “Niyo Art Center, Association Arkane - Casablanca Morocco, and at the Rural African Art gallery at Kayonza, Eastern Province – Rwanda, (2 Public Art)”
