Agur Kaljusaar

Agur Kaljusaar (born: 26 October 1979 in Tallinn, Estonia) I am a freelance
Estonian painter, jewellery artist and entrepreneur.

I have been active in the field of creativity in various periods as a painter, jewellery artist and creative director in advertising.
My works mostly contain elements of surrealism, symbolism, nude, geometric and classical art. Geometric elements and symbols are often used covertly and can be found hidden in the locations, dimensions and proportions of objects. Those symbols carry messages, which are meant for those who can find and understand them.

I guess I am with untraditional background as addition to artistic activities I have been active in many different fields as an entrepreneur in the field of information technology, advertising and as a publisher of the press. I also have been involved in many interior design, construction, landscaping and shipbuilding projects and also participated in construction of two worlds largest cruise ships Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas.

In 1985–1997 I studied at Tallinn 8th Secondary School, Johann Köler Viljandi City Center School and Tallinn Art Gymnasium.
1997-1999 learned jewellery design and worked as a goldsmith's apprentice at Marquise Jewellery and Art Gallery.

I started to paint not for sale but out of expression and for my self. Later when I started to work for commission and selling my work I used rather personal contacts and internet to exhibit and sell my art, so I didn't have too many public exhibitions and most of my few exhibitions were private events for invited quests. Yet some public exhibitions I still had.

2005 - exhibition at the Estonian Embassy in the Washington DC, USA
2009 - 2013 regular studio exhibitions in Tallinn, Väike-Karja studio gallery.
2013 - Solo exhibition at Tallinn Pärnu mnt Design and Architecture Gallery.
2015 - exhibition at the Tallinn Uus Street Gallery
