Mario Alvi Alvim

Mario Alvi (ALVIM) was born in Lacco Ameno in Ischia (Naples) on February 28th 1945.
Alvi’s mentors were two great Neapolitan painters namely Franco Girosi and Carlo Verdecchia.
A retired art teacher Alvi has participated since the 70’s in both one man and collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad. His paintings are present in both civic and private collections.
More recently the artist has been inspired by the shell. This natural element symbolises his own fascination with Nature. Consequently, shells are often portrayed in his painting.
Currently Mario Alvi lives and works in his studio at Lacco Ameno, a small village near the seaport town of Ischia.
