Andrea Barthelemy

My artist name is Andrea, pseudonym of Andrea Chantal Barthelemy. I'm born in France near Marseille.
I live in Provence near Avignon.
First I worked as an artwork restorer conservator, then I decided to create for live my passion.
Since 25 years, I'm a professionnel artist painter and affiliated to the Maison des Artistes in France.

- First, I studied four years the restoration of artworks with a great Master: Laurent de Montcassin (1913-2008), a follower of the painters of the Barbizon School. I received a solid formation during four years. During this time, I studied the techniques of the great Masters by practicing copying from originals in museums, history of art from the 14th to the 20th centuries. At the same time forming me in the restoration of easel paintings. Study trips in Europe were also on the programme.
For my formation, I also restored ceilings frescoes churches, chapels and covets.
- Secondly, I pursued a university degree in Literature and Art with Chinese at Aix en Provence University. I obtained a Master in Letters, Art in Chinese Civilization.
- Then, I went in China to study at the Hangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (Zhejiang Province), to practice ink Chinese painting.
