In my work I start from two primary elements of nature that are important elements of my personal history and my journeys abroad: water and roots.
I use water as a leitmotiv to push the observers into a flow, visual and sensual, in which they perceive the current dangerous environmental conditions on this earth caused by human actions.
One of my technical processes includes overlapping (a specific way to overlap( two or more image frames using the analog Holga camera. The merging (of more frames is not a digital manipulation or postproduction, it) is manually performed in the shooting phase and is made possible by the unique characteristics of the camera (Holga), (such as for example the possibility to manullay move forward the film, or the casual light leaks). These characteristics often determine some unplanned or unexpected results. The Holga camera offers a mix of extremley specific way to use a film and some (utterly) uncontrollable factors. This tecnique is simultaenuosluy very precise and superficial. .
