Land Poems (aka Land Tartans)

Digital prints made with a photographic process using colour sampled from landscape. Compositions are guided by the interaction of patterns using poetic rhythm and metre. Although the 'poems' are linear in structure, they may be ‘read’ in multiple directions, beginning from any square. It was my intention to capture the essence of the land through its colours and transient moods. This set of 'Land Poems' was produced as part of my Creative Residency at Plas Tan y Bwlch, the Snowdonia National Park Authority's Environmental Study Centre, in Maentwrog, Wales.
