Gabriel Prundeanu is a professional artist. He began his studies at Marin Sorescu Art School, continued at the Bucharest National University of Arts, specializing in Graphics. Since 1997 he has been a member of the Union of Fine Artists. He proposes a special aesthetic experience. His work belong to abstract art, both in terms of technique and means of expression and materials used, color and form. ''Gabriel Prundeanu is a painter of the senses, his works incite feelings, emotions, moods. His painting is not representative or derivative of anything. It is purely abstract. The artist likes to emphasizethe divisions between forms not just with thick splashes of color or lines, but also by abruptly changing the direction of his strokes, and utilizing and controlling values, tones, and edges. Prundeanu’s abstract artrequires the viewers to have an open, inquiring mind –the public must enter the painting and feel its energy, emotions and textures. This intensely personal process enriches the viewer’s experience of the artwork.'' Art critic Diana Roman Choosing the compositional freedom offered by abstractionism, I do not start from the idea of "saying" something, rather I start from a few arbitrary language elements with which I try to build a dialogue. In itself, any abstract, unrecognizable element has a resonance within us, and this ensemble of shapes, colors, plastic elements, creates a state of mind. My works do not necessarily have a theme, they are the result of my inner state at that moment. It is not a hedonistic juxtaposition of colors but a dialogue between colors, textures and shapes so that the final result represents a new experience. An artistic experience impacts our souls through color, surfaces, texture, light and has the ability to elevate the human spirit, helps us explore and manage emotions and find new perspectives on looking at reality. By seeking a fragile balance between colors, textures and shapes, I aim to capture the viewer's attention for as long as possible so that the aesthetic impact is deeper. In my art, I eliminate the familiar and thus the viewer must step out of their comfort zone, forcing their perception to bypass critical and analytical thinking, which deals with analogies, comparisons, labels, and transcends into something we feel inside and generates an inner sensation that can express a multitude of impressions without being able to specify exactly what.
