In my artistic activity, I re-examine own responsibility towards social and environmental events that surround me, and research about possibilities of overlapping individual and collective experiences. The focus of my work is on migration-transition and climate change narratives. Within them, I’m materializing a trigger that will turn on and amplify dominant characteristics in spectators, such as altruism, empathy, kindness and community feeling. As an elementary school art teacher, I can see the emotional burden of climate change in children. Talking to younger generations about climate changes narratives, gives a fresh perspective on the absurdity of doing so little about the climate emergency, highlighting the troubling disconnection between what politicians say and what they do in reality. We have to find a way to face our vulnerability, painful truths, collective denial, grief and loss, developing the emotionally informed and sustainable actions desperately needed.
