Welcome to the Art of Tobias Inigo. I am an artist and writer. Currently, I am focused on offering original art and professional prints of my brush and black ink works. My works are original, expressive, and unique. My artistic process is one that is fluid; often spontaneous and creatively infused with inspiration and vision. The works done in black ink are powerful and creative. Using the deconstructed components of other brushes, I construct unique magical brushes. I generally do not make preparation sketches, nor do I feel the need to have a theme, subject or image before I begin. I am inspired only in as much as selecting a brush. From there, I allow the creative energy and my own vision to guide the process. The nearest descriptive for my artistic style is that of Chinese ink mark making, or shuǐ mò huà, which is similar to the brush and ink techniques I use. Each work is a one of a kind and once complete, I can be just as pleased with one or two brush marks as something more complicated. These brush marks do not begin with any intention of being a portrait, a plant, animal or any particular object. They become these final images by allowing both my creative energy and skills to combine with and nurture the voice of the brush and ink. If you have any questions, please ask.
