On show in Museum Coda, Apeldoorn, Netherlands
This drawing is now back from the exhibition in Museum CODA, Apeldoorn, and is for sale again.
Making this large drawing was my way of revisiting places I travelled to when I was still in my teens. In doing so, I made use of some ancient photographs I picked up then, so in a way I used the eyes of some unknown stranger. The experiences from that time have always remained important to me
The drawing is divided into nine frames, and each frame consists of nine drawings, all made separately and joined together after they were all made.
Each drawing was made in two stages, first I drew the ‘rhythm’ with ink, then I added the colour which I drew with pastels.
The artwork is shipped framed, because pastel drawings are somewhat vulnerable. The bright side of that being that, once arrived, it’s ready for hanging.

Through my art I share the observations I make of my surroundings, my feelings and my thoughts. Looking at the world as a painter allows me to look with a different and more observant eye. The things I see, observe and feel I translate into realistic images, but they are always more than a mere depiction of reality. They possess a deeper and more personal layer with which I invite the viewer to look closer, to share my view.
