This was inspired from a photo by Stanislav Belyaevsky. I drew the ballerina in the photo and then added my own ideas of colour with a light wash of watercolor. I like the simplistic nature of the picture and the mixture of purple and pink.

I was born in Bristol in the UK and now live in Sussex. I have been drawing ballet dancers since I was a child. I took ballet classes as a child and developed a love of the dance form. From this experience, I am familiar with the movement and poses and try to get this across in my drawings and paintings. The subject matter is mainly ballet as I find this inspiring, but I also paint scenic views and love a beautiful sunset!
