Harriet Browne’s abstract tidal paintings are inspired by the rivers that run their course, curving powerfully to the mouth of the sea with a tone and a palette to reflect their interaction with humankind and its reliance on their mesmerising continuance. Markings reveal an ever-changing landscape, shifting sands and mud and the harmony and solace that we find from them. After working as a decorative painter artist touring and working in beautiful private estates and commercial entities, Harriet completed her foundation at Richmond School of Art, and then studied at Heatherley’s school of Fine Art. She now paints in her studio in London. This year one of her paintings ‘Casual Encounter’ was shortlisted for the RA Summer Show.
