Cames was born in Soriano, Uruguay in December 1954. He has been a fan of music and sports and has worked in the area of software development. It was not until just a few years ago, in August 2018, he discovered the art of painting at the Casablanca art school. in Montevideo directed by the prestigious artist Ignacio Iturria. There he began his training with the plastic artist Mariana Olaso.
